The excitement and feeling of accomplishment when a customer sees their installed window graphics for the first time is the mark of a successful project. That success is often the result of hard work, creative energy, and strong partnerships. For LINTEC of America, one of those strong partners is Color Reflections.
For over 50 years, Color Reflections has been a leader in digital printing technology. A pioneer in sustainable printing solutions, they can reach all 50 states and U.S. territories. Color Reflections has connections with a wide range of customers from individual designers to world-wide design companies and their experts have a wide array of specialties and knowledge levels.
Jim Halloran, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at LINTEC of America, and John Coyne, Sales Manager at LINTEC of America, recently sat down with Sarah Zilnik of Color Reflections. The topic of their discussion was one of the keys to their business success—how to go above & beyond for customers.
“There Are No Limitations”
One of the key attributes of LINTEC of America products that Zilnik cited is the design flexibility they offer. “You guys developed this incredible product that really opened up so many doors for people creatively,” she said.
As a former designer, Zilnik believes that this flexibility is “a really fun place to be.” That’s because it allows design teams to create something “in their mind” that they know they will be able to see fully realized as a finished installation.
An Opportunity to Be Educated
Zilnik shared the awe and curiosity she and her teammates have when they see finished window installations. When they are looking at completed window graphics, some of the questions they ask include:
- How many layers are there?
- What colors are used?
- Is this a first surface installation? Second surface?
“We’re always learning,” Zilnik admitted.
Location, Location, Location
Color Reflections typically uses the LINTEC 2mil scratch-resistant, permanent window film to bring their designs to life. Zilnik said that while they love and trust that product, their team isn’t bound by the “this is how we’ve always done it” mindset.
For example, in the installations that originate in the Color Reflections west coast office, they will turn to LINTEC of America’s UV-blocking window films. “It’s a lot sunnier out there,” she said with a smile.
Halloran shared that most customers in an office setting utilize permanent materials, while those in retail spaces tend to turn toward removable window films. This gives them the opportunity to efficiently change the look of their space in step with the campaign being run.
“It’s time to explore the things that may not have been possible before.”
The best way, according to Zilnik, to go above and beyond for a customer is to help them not to feel constrained. Engaging with customers early in the process, when they are still in their “dream” state of the project, allows design teams to tease out the customer’s inspiration and influences.
This background knowledge can pave the way for a more dynamic collaboration process. When a customer feels their idea has been heard and explored, they become stronger partners.
